Afrikaans

The Afrikaans language is closely related to the Dutch language. Originally Afrikaans was known as “Cape Dutch” or “kitchen Dutch". Other languages like German and Malaysian also had their influence on the Afrikaans language. Afrikaans is spoken as a first language by about 7 million people in South Africa.
